My passion in learning about the body originated from many years of being a movement artist (gymnastics, yoga, circus arts, Brazilian zouk dance). Prior to starting The Pain & Posture Specialist, I ran a business teaching aerial dance to adults and youth in Colorado and internationally. I loved performing and it's where I found my artistic expression! I have a loving place in my heart to help acrobatically-inclined movers/ dancers to prolong and preserve their movement longevity in their art form. It's something I didn't realize would have been a worthy investment when I was an aerialist.
I received my B.A in Food Sciences and Nutrition from Colorado State University, and obtained my massage therapy license and specialization in neurosomatic therapy from the Center for Neurosomatic Studies (CNS) in Clearwater, FL in 2019.
Once I graduated from CNS I worked as a clinician at Brandon Pain Treatment Center in Brandon, FL for 7 months. After the pandemic hit, I chose to move back home to open my practice in Loveland, CO in August of 2020.
Most recently, I expanded my studies in MNRI (Masgatova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration) therapy , and feel excited to begin integrating these techniques into my practice, especially for PTSD & stress recovery.
Our body is our only vehicle for experiencing this life. Having the ability to move with ease and without pain is possible when receiving the right support. I look forward working together as we guide your body back to a place of optimal functioning and homeostasis so it may do what it what it loves best: Expressing itself freely through movement!
All my love,
Alex
